"My name is Devon Groves, unsure how to switch google accountsš But out of no where I was in immense pain, dealt with it for 2 days before calling Brookwood. I originally had an appointment for a week out, but was in so much immense pain by day 3 that they were able to work me in the next day. Turns out I had 2 abscesses, so I got a root canal and that taken care of. They were urgent with taking care of me. I donāt know if I could have waited a whole week. They gave me my life back, and they also have cozy blankets for you!! Literally 10000/10! Staff was SO sweet and caring, and this being my first root canal and first time having abscesses, I had a thousand questions. They were so patient with me and answered everything I wanted and needed to know!"

They explained everything, made me feel comfortable, and the procedure was honestly far easier than I expected. I even chose nitrous oxide because I was anxious, and the team made the entire experience feel calm and stress-free.What shocked me most is that after the numbness wore off, I had almost no pain at all. "Had the "urgent" need for an assessment for possible root canal. Called Brookwood Endodontics. I called around 0800 and they had an opening at 1230 with Dr Thomas. Waited approximately 10 minutes before xrays were done and then to a comfortable chair and awesome view. Dr. Thomas confirmed the need for root canal and his assistant, Maddie, got things set up . They both provided the pre-procedure info i needed and they went to work. Unfortunately I've had several root canals over the years and things always went well. However, this experience was more than OK, it was great. Never experienced the discomfort I had in previous procedures, almost completely pain free and the time was minimal. Dr Thomas repeatedly checked in to make sure I was comfortable and Maddie was at the side to support him and me! Overall, great experience and no doubt where I will go if need arises again. On a scale of 1 to 10, this was at a least a 15. Also....reception staff personable, professional, and very pleasant as well as efficient managing insurance claims. Great team!"

Given the urgency of my condition, having already waited four weeks for my initial dental consultation, I inquired about an earlier availability. Ms. Marshall, the representative, efficiently located a cancellation and scheduled me for 1:30 PM on the same day. My entire experience, from my arrival to the follow-up call this morning regarding my aftercare, was outstanding. The facility provides amenities such as beverages, blankets, and headphones for personal devices, and patients have the option to select entertainment during their procedure. The staff and doctors exhibited exceptional attentiveness throughout. I wholeheartedly endorse their services."

"I was so nervous about getting my first root canal! My doctor was very professional;she seemed relaxed so I relaxed. They have all the latest most up-to-date tools. My doctor kept me informed the whole time about what she saw and what she was doing. I felt like I was in good hands and may have even dozed off during the procedure. "This was my first evaluation for a root canal. Dr. Kaple took the time to discuss and explain the whole process and options. Once everything was explained I agreed with his recommendation to have the root canal versus pulling the tooth. "I had to have a root canal and never having one, I didn't know what to expect. I was dreading the procedure but Dr Thomas and his assistant, McKenzie, made me feel at ease. Other than the initial shots to numb the area, I felt no pain during the entire surgery. It is the day after the surgery and still no soreness or pain. "I had to have a root canal according to my dentist. He scheduled an appointment with Dr. Thomas. The day I went in I was questioning whether I really needed a root canal because the horrible tooth pain I had originally was gone. Dr. Thomas suggested I wait a few days to make sure since he didnāt want to give me a root canal if I didnāt need one. The very next day I woke up with tooth pain again. I called his office and due to a cancellation, I was able to get in that day. I had a crown over that tooth that according to my dentist was a temporary. It was not. Dr. Thomasā staff did everything they could to remove that crown without success. He finally had to drill through it. Once he did he told me there was a lot of infection under the crown. During the process, I was super stressed. I was not that easy to get numb and hated the sound of the drill. Dr. Thomas was able to get my mouth numb. I realized I didnāt have to be stressed and had to make myself relax several times. After it was all over I realized I had been super stressed over nothing. I would definitely recommend him to anyone."
"Everyone was so kind and understanding. May and Dr. Thompson were excellent during my root canal, as were the receptionists up front. I have severe dental phobia and they were kind enough to explain everything they did, they were patient, as well as making sure i was completely numb. I felt nothing at all during my procedure and they made sure I was comfortable. I felt well taken care of and listened to. "Everything was pleasant from start to finish. 1st, it is was the front desk personnel. They was very friendly, polite and warm. Next, it was the gospel music playing in the lobby, and they were some of my favorite songs at that, so I was jamming while filling out paperwork. Next, it was the friendly assistant that called me back and got me prepared for my visit. She was very sweet, supportive and gentle. (She even wiped my tears later as I silently cried from nervousness, as I waited for the anesthesia and gas to kick in šš„¹) I hate I can't remember her name because she definitely deserves recognition. Once I got set up, it was the open window view over looking parts of the city and highway. Nice! Then it was sweet, sweet Dr Thomas. I absolutely loved him! I get terribly anxious at the dentist ( I know he's a specialist, but they both work in my mouth lol) and this was my first root canal. He made me feel so at ease! "I've had many root canal during my lifetime and experienced varying degrees of discomfort/pain. The shots to numb my jaw hurt but, to my amazement, that was the only pain I have had with this root canal. Even when the numbing wore off, there was no discomfort. Dr. Taylor and Mackenzie were great."

"I was referred to Brookwood Endodontics for a root canal by my primary dentist; this was the day before Christmas Eve. They were kind enough to work me in. Grace was my assigned tech and Dr Thomas was the endodontist who performed my root canal. Both were amazing. I was warmly welcomed, once I was in the chair I was offered a blanket (it was cold in there but Iām always cold); I was offered a beverage and was continuously checked on while waiting. The office is very nice, a little cool for me, but Iām old and more cold natured than younger folks! Dr. Kaple was very nice, made sure I was as comfortable as I could be under the circumstances, and worked efficiently. He let me know what he was doing as the job progressed. The shots didnāt hurt very much which Iām grateful for! I felt nothing while he drilled, and was finished in about 50 minutes! I was expecting it to take longer but glad it didnāt. "I had a very pleasant experience with Brookwood Endodontics on December 16. I had a cavity on a tooth holding a permanent bridge in my right lower jaw. Dr. Kaple and Melissa explained that they would try to complete a root canal through the bridge and seal the opening made for the procedure. I requested gas and they obliged. Dr. Kaple is the best Dr. in giving oral injections. Upon completion,Melissa cleaned around my mouth for me while giving oxygen to clear the nitrous. Every one of the staff at this practice is exceptionally polite and compassionate. I will highly recommend them for any special needs beyond normal dental procedures. "Ive had 2 root canals done at this place by 2 different dentists. Both times my experience was as good as it could possibly get for having these procedures. The staff is wonderful. Everyone is super caring and friendly. They ask repeatedly if youre ok and can they get you a drink, they offered me a blanket. They asked what I wanted to watch on TV that hangs overhead while being worked on, which offers the anxious person a good distraction. Then I got a call the following morning just to ask how I was feeling. I will never go anywhere else. This place is amazing! It's also very clean and beautifully decorated for Christmas. The view from my chair while I waited was nice too. If you need an endodontist, look no further!"

"I visited Brookwood Endodontics for a root canal. The office wait was not long before I was called by Dr. Stephen Thomas technician, Madison. She prepped me, making sure I was comfortable as she did routine imaging and gathering important diagnostic information. Dr. Thomas came into the room and explained every step as he performed the procedure. He was fantastic! I felt no pain and a day later I am during well. "First time I have visited this practice for endodontic work (my previous endodontist retired!). My initial contact for an appointment was handled efficiently by a very friendly receptionist, and I was able to get an appointment in just a couple of days. The online registration was extensive but very easily done. I highly recommend this to any new clients. My wait time after arriving for my appointment was minimal, and I was X-rayed and prepped by two very friendly and knowledgeable technicians. Dr. Thompson immediately diagnosed my condition and within 30 minutes the dreaded redo of a previous root canal was done, as painless as one of those procedures can be! I was provided prescriptions and post-op instructions, paid a very reasonable co-pay, and I was on my way home. I was very pleased with the visit and with the care I was provided. "From the moment I walked into their office I can tell they've given great thought to their patients. I say this because I am disabled and walk with a cane. The chairs were of different height. So, I was able to sit and get up with little difficulty. The receptionists were all very nice. Among the paperwork they give you a personal room card. This card asks if you want something to drink and offer different options, they asks if you need a headset for your phone, they give a selection of channels to watch on TV, they ask if you need a blanket, and another question. I don't remember them all. They actually cater to you. The assistants are very professional yet personable. They listen to you. My assistant, Vanessa, asks lots of questions to make sure she understood what what needed and made sure the doctor understood also. She was GREAT. My doctor, Dr. Stephen J. Thomas, was AWESOME!! Vanessa told him I am hard to numb and he made sure I was very numb. Usually, when I tell dentists I am hard to numb they have to give me extra numbing medications during the procedure. But, not so with Dr. Thomas. He listened to my complaint and explain to me what was happening and showed and explained the x-ray to me. He performed a root canal and the procedure itself did not take long at all. I couldn't believe it. WOW! Did I say he was AWESOME? At checkout the people were very funny. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! (I had been deeply dreading this appointment for days!)Upon arrival at the office, I was warmly greeted in the classy and comfortable waiting area by the friendly faces and soft voices of the reception staff as calming inspirational music played in the background. The check-in process was quickly completed due to the online registration option that I was able to do from home. (The information presented during registration was very helpful and the additional communication via text helped me to be prepared for the payment process.)Before I was called back for my procedure, I was given the opportunity to choose comfort options that not only included the usual nitrous oxide, but a menu of drink options, TV channel choices, headphones, a pillow, and a comfy blanket. Once seated in the dental chair (which was facing a glass wall offering a beautiful panoramic view of Homewood and Red Mountain), I was carefully attended to (with my choices of bottled water and a fleece blanket) and respectfully prepped with an explanation of what was to come. Where was I?? So far, my visit seemed more like a spa than a dental office!The actual reason for my visit was soon addressed, but I was consistently asked how I was doing and I was never in pain. The use of cutting edge equipment and efficient and effective procedures put this dental practice in the lead for their field. Dr. Thomas and his assistant McKenna quickly took care of my tooth issue and sent me home with clearly explained verbal and written instructions, along with a voucher for a treat from Smoothie King as a "thank you." I later received a follow-up phone call/voicemail message from the office to check on my recovery.This experience was much easier than I anticipated due to well-run administrative procedures, clear communication, and Dr. Thomas's commitment to comfortable and competent care. I called in the morning explaining my need for an evaluation, and not only did they book me for the same afternoon, but also ended up performing the root canal I needed. Actually, I wasnāt.I called on a Friday morning with horrible pain a week after having oral surgery (performed by another office). The office staff was able to fit me in on an already booked day. I waited no more than 15 minutes before being called back. Tara immediately noticed I was in pain and scared. She talked to me for a few minutes, asked me several questions, then took an X-Ray. Dr. Powell, who is kind and funny, appeared and informed me that I didnāt need a root canal - just some additional healing time. Dr. Powell and Tara also helped replace the medication, for a dry socket, on my tooth, that had worn away.The office staff was kind, showed empathy and caring as well and extremely trustworthy. Birmingham Endodontics has found a way to create a safe and caring environment, which in my experience, is hard to come by."
