How Is An Apicoectmy Performed?
The apicoectomy procedure is performed under local anesthesia to keep patients comfortable, with sedation available if needed. During the treatment, one of our endodontists will make a small opening in the gum to reach the root tip, then remove the inflamed or infected tissue along with a small portion of the root. Once the area is thoroughly cleaned, the end of the root canal is sealed with a biocompatible material to prevent reinfection. Depending on the complexity of the tooth, the procedure typically takes between 30 – 90 minutes, and patients can usually return home the same day.

I had a great experience. I was nervous everyone put me at ease. Dr. Edwards and her nurse Kailyn were do helpful making me feel better. The infection was so bad but they worked hard got me the correct meds. Already feeling better and office called first thing checking on me and reaction to meds. Not ooking forward to root canals but I know I'm in good hands. Would highly recommend everyone I came in contact with. Thanks for changing a scary situation into a calmer time.
